Thank you Eddie for all your encouragement, and for the time you have put into these studies.
It's pretty much like the days of Sodom and Gomarah today.
Everyone doing their own thing and all without shame!!
We will keep on trusting the Lord, and humbly follow His leading, until He comes ,or we awake from the dead to hear His glorious voice and follow Him Home.
To God be the glory.
Amen.

In reply to <a href="https://www.answersfromscriptureonline.com/2015/12/03/second-coming-predictions-details-to-the-secrets/#comment-1414">Harold Apul SIREGAR</a>.

Thank you for your comments. I appreciate what you are saying and it makes sense. His second coming has been proclaimed for about 2,000 years. As followers of Jesus and students of His word, it is our privilege to know that His coming is near. "even at the doors." Each day that passes is one day closer to His coming or our falling asleep in Christ. The main concern of Christ and the Disciples was that we be prepared for either event. I am 64 years old....Even if Christ does not come for another 100 years, my death will certainly happen sooner. Even with my good health, it could be within the next 5, 10, 15, 20 or if I am fortunate, 25 years. When I pass, the very next experience I will have (like many others) is found in 2 Thessalonians 4: 15-18 "For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air." The time period between my death and this event is as fast as you can twinkle your eye. I find comfort in these words as I told to do in verse 18: "Wherefore comfort one another with these words." So I would say, using this reasoning, that Jesus will come (in my experience) in at least 25 years or less.

Those who are alive when Jesus literally comes in the clouds are surprised by His coming because they are not looking nor preparing their hearts for the return of Christ. In fact, they question if He is going to come at all. "knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, 'Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation." 2 Peter 3: 3-4.

The flip side the skepticism and cynicism created by his apparent delay is the complacency and carelessness by not talking of it as soon and not preparing our hearts. The reason Jesus waits is because when He does come, there will be no more chances and it will be the end for those who, like the days of Noah and Lot, continued an unprepared life "until the flood came and destroyed them all." Luke 17 27-29. Notice in this next verse that our idea of soon and God's idea of soon...also notice why he delays. It is because He wishes than none will PERISH...."But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance." 2 Peter 3:8,9

My friend, Jesus return is going to be soon, one way or another, and will surprise many. It may not be in my lifetime or yours but, we must live for Him today as if He were coming next week and do his biding for others now. 67 years on earth is a vapor in time compared the thousands of years of earth's history, but we find ourselves in a unique time of history where the prophecies of His coming are becoming more and more clear. False teachers using opinion and the power of the media are painting a picture not found in the Bible. Our enemy seeks to blind people to the truth as found in His word and therefore have them unprepared for that great day.
Blessing to you and your family. May the good Lord watch over you and your family. Eddie

I often baulk at the phrase "Jesus is coming SOON" as it implies a certain degree of IMMEDIACY. I have lived for 67 years with this impression; the early Christian Church and more recently the Seventh Day Adventist Church from 1844 (and others) has repeated the phrase with good intentions I must say, but nothing has happened yet.

Would it not be better if as Christian believers in the coming of Jesus proclaim that "Jesus is coming AGAIN" rather than "Jesus is coming SOON". This minimises the expectation of immediacy and may be one of the reasons why SKEPTICISM and CYNICISM may have crept into the thinking of many "wayward" and the unchurched about prophecies and an eroded disbelieve in other.
truths about the Christian value system.

When I tell my grandchild over the phone that I am coming soon, the expectation/s of my 'appearing' is quite immediate. How could this claim be justified even if Christians do instinctively feel the 'soonest' of the event.
